Ensyn’s research and development efforts revolve around Ensyn’s three main product groups.
In the bio-energy sector, where Ensyn’s products are well developed, R&D activities focus on assisting in deploying bio-energy technologies at customer sites, and in the reduction of market entry barriers.
In the bio-chemical sector, R&D activities focus on assisting in the rollout of existing product lines, and in the reduction of market entry barriers. R&D is also undertaken to commercialize new bio-chemical products based upon identified markets.
In the renewable transportation fuel sector, R&D is undertaken in conjunction with strategic corporate or national lab partners on commercializing Ensyn’s product line.
Intellectual Property
Ensyn has a number of RTP™ product and process patents, both issued and pending. Our core patents cover the general RTP™ process itself as well as specific biomass applications and bio-products. These patents, along with Ensyn’s in-house knowledge and expertise, provide significant “layered” protection for the company’s intellectual property, and will ensure a technological lead for years to come.
With the exception of two applications, Ensyn owns all RTP™-related intellectual property, including patents, trade names, copyrights, and process knowledge and expertise. Ensyn holds RTP™ rights to process renewable biomass, including wood, wood residues, non-woody plants, agricultural biomass, organic municipal waste and the derivatives of all the aforementioned. |
