Chevron Technology Ventures, (‘CTV’), a division of Chevron U.S.A., Inc. serves as the company’s business and technology incubator, evaluating and demonstrating emerging technologies that could improve Chevron’s efficiency and enhance the performance of its base businesses. CTV champions innovation, commercialization and integration of emerging technologies within Chevron.
Ensyn and CTV
Ensyn and CTV have established a strategic relationship regarding the production of renewable transportation fuels from Ensyn’s RTP liquids. This initiative includes an agreement under which CTV is applying Chevron’s proprietary upgrading technologies and know-how at Chevron’s refineries in order to convert Ensyn’s RTP liquids produced from a variety of non-food cellulosic biomass feedstocks into blendstocks for transportation fuels, such as gasoline and diesel. If successful, these “drop-in” renewable blendstocks would be indistinguishable from their petroleum-based counterparts.
In addition to this development work, CTV is also a shareholder of Ensyn Corporation.
